Ivan can feel the air change when his former friend shows up. Loathe though he is to admit it, he's somewhat relieved that he didn't die in that fire - not that he believed for a second that he did, but it is reassuring to know for certain.
He won't go seek him out, though. If Gabriel is trailing along after him, that means he isn't out killing innocent people. He intends to drag him out a bit, keep him busy, before he confronts him.
